Director of Distribution

Department: Operations
Reports To: VP of Operations
Location: Distribution Center in Cranbury, NJ

Overview: The Director of Distribution will lead a team and manage a strategic 3PL partner in the development and implementation of the Operations team vision, strategic plans, and priorities.

Functions & Responsibilities:
· Lead and drive company’s distribution strategy
· Oversee one 200K sq ft full service facility with multiple distribution channels: eCommerce, retail, and wholesale
· Lead and manage relationship with Distribution partner
· Ensure optimal utilization of warehouse management and transportation management systems
· Track and communicate KPIs and implement programs for improvement
· Produce performance reports and executive summary reports monthly
· Ensure all contractual metrics for inbound outbound processing, and inventory control, etc., are consistently met or exceeded
· Responsible for maintaining a high level of accuracy (99.5%) on all outbound shipments
· Represent distribution department in managing the strategic aspects of large, complex, cross-functional projects
· Develop, maintain, and improve capacity and forecast modeling
· Represent Logistics and DC Operations in managing the strategic aspects of large, complex, cross-functional projects
· Must be able to operate in an efficient/cost conscious manner so that all budgeted objectives are achieved
· Market development planning and customer interaction
· Continuously improve processes in a proactive manner to avoid potential disruptions to service
· Spearhead future distribution automation and expansion initiatives

Requirements:
· Experience in startups and implementing SOP and Processes
· Ability to travel to headquarters in Southern CT weekly
· Must have 3PL, retail, apparel, or distribution experience
· 5+ years in a fast-paced, multi-channel, 3PL environment
· 5+ years warehouse operations experience, specifically receiving, put-away, pick & pack, and shipping
· End-to-end knowledge of supply chain operations and systems
· Must have strong IT experience with both WMS, WCS and TMS
· Experience overseeing over 100+ associates
· Strong customer service skills, experience with on-site client management highly preferred
· Strong excel and report ability
· Strong tactical management experience
· Strong financial background a must, including complete understanding of weekly forecasting and budget preparation and management
· BS or BA degree
· Ensure distribution’s ability to support 50%+ yearly growth over the next 5-7 years
