Brewing More Than Coffee: Patrick Price’s Journey with The 30A Barista
If you’ve spent any time along 30A, you know there’s something special brewing. It’s not just the salty air or the slow, sun-drenched mornings—it’s the perfect cup of coffee, handcrafted by Patrick Price. A barista, business owner, and all-around coffee enthusiast, Patrick has taken his love for the craft and turned it into The 30A Barista, a thriving mobile coffee business delivering high-end coffee experiences to locals and visitors alike.
Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, Patrick got his start behind the espresso machine at just 15 years old, working at Starbucks before honing his skills at high-end coffee shops. Even as life pulled him away from the industry—marriage, a daughter, other jobs—his passion for coffee never faded. “I was always making it at home,” he says. “One day, I just thought, ‘Why not make a business out of this?’” Nine days later, The 30A Barista had its first service.
Running a mobile coffee business is no small feat. “You wear 30 hats,” Patrick laughs. “Marketing, business development, admin work, and then, of course, making the coffee.” But the challenges come with a freedom he wouldn’t trade for anything. His days start with breakfast with his wife and daughter before heading out to beach houses and private events, where he crafts each cup with precision. After work, he often unwinds with another passion—jiu-jitsu. “It’s a mental and physical challenge, just like running a business,” he says. “You’re never done learning.”
Patrick’s coffee philosophy is rooted in quality. His signature blend—a mix of Colombian and Brazilian beans—is a product of trial, error, and a lot of highly caffeinated taste tests. “We tried about 50 lattes in one afternoon,” he recalls. “But we finally nailed it.” His go-to drink? A simple but rich combination of raw milk, raw honey, and espresso. For those looking for something a little sweeter, his Cuban, made with sweetened condensed milk, is a fan favorite.
With business booming, Patrick has big dreams. Expansion is on the horizon, with West Palm Beach, Miami, and Tampa in his sights. “Right now, we’re a small team, but we’re growing. Eventually, I’d love to bring on a full-time staff and expand beyond Florida.”
For those looking to follow in his entrepreneurial footsteps, Patrick offers two pieces of advice: “Just because you can do the job doesn’t mean you can run the business. Learn the business side or you’ll end up working three times as hard for less. And pray—you’ll need the help.”
So what does an ‘Every Day Should Feel This Good’ moment look like for Patrick? “Making coffee by the beach, hearing the ocean, being surrounded by great people. If my wife and daughter are there too? That’s the perfect day.”
