If you’ve heard of Anguilla, chances are you’ve heard of Nori. After following in her parents’ footsteps and moving to the island she calls home, Nori quickly became the island’s go-to gal for anyone seeking adventure. She’s got the inside scoop on everything Anguilla; from the best restaurants, most beautiful beaches, to the best hot sauce on the Island! Here are a few of her favorite spots that she made sure to take us to during our last visit.

Growing up with a travel writer as a father, Shep and Ian got to visit some of the most beautiful places all over the country. But traveling on a writer’s budget afforded Shep and Ian a completely different travel experience in these places than most other travelers. Instead of eating in resort restaurants, they would be in the kitchen forming friendships and relationships with the hotel management and staff. They learned the importance of service and how it truly is the little things in life that make the biggest difference.

While traveling with their father, Anguilla quickly became a favorite spot for Shep and Ian. They would spend their days snorkeling around Little Bay, sipping frozen drinks at the Dune Preserve, and lounging around with their guitars under the hot Anguillan sun. But most importantly, they met a lot of Real Good People living a Real Good Life.

This is truly where the story of vineyard vines began. On a trip to Anguilla in the 90’s, Shep and Ian made their rounds on the island to all of their favorite places. At this point the brothers had begun to talk about wanting to create their own neckties that represent the finer things in life. They found that with each place they traveled, they seemed to pick up something new and exciting. They wanted to create ties that allowed people to bring the Good Life with them wherever they went.

While grabbing drinks one night at Covecastles Resort bar, Shep and Ian sat contemplating their life and how they wanted to turn their crazy idea into a reality. A few drinks and a lot of dreaming later, the guys started talking to Norman, the General Manager of the Covecastles Resort. Norman listened to their vision and gave them the push they needed to pursue what they really wanted to do.

Norman grabbed his New York City Yellow pages book and turned to the manufacturers page. He ripped it out, handed it to the guys, and rest is history!

The Good Life is all about the people you meet along the way. Learn more about our friends from Anguilla here!
