Each year for more than a decade, John Glynn and "The Bobs," Bob Burgess and Bob Phillips, have come from across the globe (Connecticut, Tortola, and Oregon, respectively) to the heart of the BVI for the highlight of the sailing season, the annual Pro Am Regatta. In their daily lives, they're a sales and marketing manager, a sailmaker and a real estate developer, but for one week a year, this dynamic trio wears different hats-the custom ones we make, if you want to get all technical-and comes together to form the event's esteemed race committee. Their duties include making sure all of the activities are fair, safe and fun for everyone involved-with the help of whistles, horns and binoculars, of course. But they also manage to have a good time and more than a few laughs, going out for a sail together whenever they get a chance and getting things started at the nightly social gatherings, including our famous/infamous whale hat party. Having been behind the scenes for so long, we thought it was high tide-er, time-they got some face time in front of the camera.
