Bought this shirt for my girls but was expecting it to be more of a coverall for days at the beach; instead, it runs smaller than expected. Would definitely order a size up, even if your girls are on the slim side like mine. A styling suggestion for Vineyard Vines: less of a "boxy" cut and longer, slimmer through waistline for girls

This was the perfect sweater for my daughter. I sized up since my Shep Shirt ran small, and think it was a good decision. The material is soft enough for my daughter to be comfortable, but sturdy enough where I am comfortable with her playing in it.
